Description: Once again, in our capital’s Parliament Buildings, parliamentarians- Members of Parliament and Senators from across party lines- will be in the same place on the same day as the 1981 “Ad Hoc” women’s constitutional conference- but 25 years later- to welcome the women activists, educators, media and retired parliamentarians who changed the course of Canadian constitutional history, along with generations of students, all participating in a morning of celebratory retrospection that will bring more accuracy to Canadian history and curricula, followed by afternoon sessions of forward –looking analysis and strategies in a global context- featuring women constitution builders in Afghanistan, Canada, Rwanda, and South Africa- to explore and connect diverse perspectives and make “herstory”.
