children at risk: sexual exploitation |
Project Summary
Title: Children at Risk: Sexual Exploitation
Date: Ongoing
Lead organization: International Institute for Child Rights and Development
Partner organization: Save the Children Fund Canada
Description:
IICRD conducts research on best practices. A booklet entitled Out From the Shadows: Good Practices in Working with Sexually Exploited Youth (2001) has been written by Liza Goulet and will be available shortly on this wesbite. The programs described in this booklet provide information on some current strategies being applied in the Americas and identify those elements that have been most successful in assisting sexually exploited children and youth to either exit the trade or to reduce its harmful effects.
IICRD has also worked to create a post-secondary curriculum. IICRD is working on a module-based curriculum for professionals working with sexually-exploited youth. This is being developed in partnership with Save the Children Fund Canada.
