Program description
The Canadian Consortium on Human Security (CCHS) is an academic network promoting policy-relevant research on human security. The goal of the CCHS is to advance the exchange of information and analysis on human security issues, and to help build a human security community in Canada and internationally. Funded through a generous grant from the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT), the core mission of the CCHS is to:
- facilitate analysis and the exchange of information relating to human security
- help build a human security community within Canada and internationally;
- promote deeper collaboration between academics, NGOs, government officials and international institutions regarding human security;
- place Canada on the cutting edge of human security research and to deepen domestic and international support for the realization of human security policy goals.
- exercise a leadership role in the international academic community on issues relating to human security.
