Global Sustainability Defined
It is increasingly accepted that development can only occur in a sustainable way. This necessitates a change in our approach and in our values, so that we respect others on this planet, including other living beings. It is also important that we develop a sense of stewardship for what we leave for our successors. Already climate change, accelerated by carbon emissions, is a reality, as is the dramatic decline in biodiversity. Responses are necessary both to mitigate and adapt to these changes. They need to take into account the necessity of reducing the gap between the rich and the poor. Technology can help and indeed is indispensable, but there are challenges here as well that require serious consideration.  Sustainability Programs
