Canadian Experts Workshop on International Environmental Governance

In August 2001, CFGS and the Lui Centre for the Study of Global Issues at UBC hosted a Canadian Experts Workshop to assist in the development of a Canadian platform for the upcoming World Summit on Sustainable Development Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. The workshop was sponsored by Environment Canada, and was focused on the specific theme of international environmental governance. Papers by six Canadian experts were commissioned with the mandate to propose options for strengthening the international environmental governance architecture.
