STUDENT ASSESSMENT

Assessment of learning for this chapter should focus on the following:
  • Were students able to identify the major global change issues and, for each, the ways in which human activities are exerting an influence?
  • Were students able to decide about priorities for action on global change from among the issues dealt with in this chapter? Students should be assessed on their ability to make informed decisions, or to assist a class group or team to make responsible informed choices.
  • Were students able to demonstrate careful thought about the importance of global change issues?
  • Were they able to display understanding of the consequences of global change to Canada and Canadians?
  • How well did students perform tasks assigned to them?
