Global Environmental Change and Human Security Project Starts UpSteve LonerganDepartment of Geography, University of Victoria In May, 1996, the Scientific Committee of the International Human Dimensions of Global Change Programme (IHDP) formally adopted the project on Global Environmental Change and Human Security (GECHS) as an "associated project" of the IHDP. Associated projects are those which are developed and maintained as joint ventures between the IHDP and one or more national HDP committees. The members of the Canadian planning committee include: Steve Lonergan (University of Victoria; Chair); Mike Brklacich (Carleton University); John Hannigan (Privy Council Office); Dave Henderson (CGCP); Tad Homer-Dixon (University of Toronto) and Philippe LePrestre (Université du Québec á Montréal).
