The Earth System: Geology Lessons for Our FutureAn International Symposium in Toronto, Ontario — December 5-7, 1996The Canadian Global Change Program is one of the sponsors of this symposium looking at the impacts of human activity on the planet. The symposium is taking place at the Ontario Science Centre, and is being organized by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIAR), through its Earth System Evolution Program. During the symposium, representatives from the research, educational, media, public and private sector constituencies, as well as members of the general public, will be immersed with international research experts on the following two questions:
