HUMAN DIMENSIONS STUDENTSHIP AWARDED BY ROYAL CANADIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY

The Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) has awarded the first Human Dimensions of Global Change Studentship to Ben Bradshaw, a doctoral student in geography at the University of Guelph.

Bradshaw’s research, on "resource use response to subsidy removal: the case of post-productivist agriculture", involves field research in Canada and New Zealand into the land-use and land cover change implications of international moves toward the removal of agricultural subsidies.

The Human Dimensions of Global Change Studentship is an initiative of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s Research and Grants Committee. The award, worth $10,000, is made possible by the generous donations of members of the RCGS from across Canada.

Further information about this award and related activities of the RCGS can be obtained from Karen Hallquist at (613) 745-4629.
