EARTH OBSERVATION DATA SETS PROGRAM -- CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Proposals from Canadian researchers are invited under the Earth Observation Data Sets Program (EODS) for the research and development of information products based on data from RADARSAT and other earth observation systems.

Starting in fiscal year 1996/97, the eight-year EODS Program will emphasize the development and validation of methodologies and algorithms for product generation. Proposals may be submitted by university, government or industry research teams who have an interest and expertise in the transformation of remote sensing data (raw or standard processed) into parameters or information which become a remote sensing information product. The EODS Program supports the development of the methodologies and algorithms with which raw or standard processed remote sensing data products can be transformed into information on the biophysical or geophysical characteristics of the earth's surface, subsurface or atmosphere. Priority is placed on products that will allow remote sensing technology to yield tangible economic or social benefits.

For more information visit the EODS World Wide Web site at: http://www.ccrs.nrcan.gc.ca/cgi-bin/ccrs/homepg.pl?e or contact Dr. Robert Gauthier, Canada Center for Remote Sensing, 588 Booth St., Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0Y7; tel: (613) 947-1283; fax: (613) 947-1385; e-mail: robert.gauthier@ccrs.nrcan.gc.na
