  • Ontario's new forest management planning process requires planners to determine the desired future forest condition and set objectives for all forest values in partnership with a broad range of interest groups.

  • the North American Waterfowl Management Plan is committing billions of dollars to the protection and restoration of wetlands.

  • recent federal tax changes will now make it easier and more attractive for landowners to donate their land for conservation purposes.

  • The Endangered Spaces Campaign, led by World Wildlife Fund Canada, is attempting to establish representative protected areas in each of Canada's ecological regions by the year 2000 which, when complete, will approximate 12% of the landscape.
