UNEP - United Nations Environment Program(français)UNEP was established at the 1972 Stockholm UN conference on the Human Environment. It encompasses and coordinates an "Earthwatch" program which deals with environmental information. Wherever possible, UNEP collaborates and cooperates with other UN organizations or with intergovernmental organizations, non-government organizations and governments. These links include those with UNESCO on education and training, the World Health Organization (WHO) on health, with the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) on tropical forests and agriculture, with WMO on climate and the World Conservation Union (IUCN). UNEP headquarters are based in Nairobi but there are offices in regions throughout the world.

PNUE - Programme des Nations Unies pour l'environnementLe PNUE a été créé lors de la Conférence des Nations Unies sur l'environnement, qui s'est tenue à Stockholm en 1972. Il comprend et coordonne le programme «Earthwatch», qui concerne l'information environnementale. Dans la mesure du possible, le PNUE collabore avec d'autres organisations des Nations Unies ou des organisations intergouvernementales, organisations non gouvernementales et gouvernements. Ces liens sont entre autres ceux avec l'UNESCO pour l'éducation et la formation, l'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS) pour les domaines reliés à la santé, l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO) pour les forêts tropicales et l'agriculture, l'OMM pour le climat et l'Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature et de ses ressources (UICN). L'administration centrale du PNUE est située à Nairobi, mais il possède aussi des bureaux dans le monde entier.
