JGOFS (Canada)(français)JGOFS Canada will feature a research plan based around the following three major themes: gas exchange at sea level, transformation and transport of carbon in the ocean, and the burial of carbon in the ocean. JGOFS Canada will focus on a series of process studies designed to fill identified gaps in knowledge, to capitalize on Canadian research strengths and to foster research in the areas that the Canadian National Committee for JGOFS believes are important. The CNC for JGOFS oversees the major directions of the research program as it develops and reports to the sponsors. The nine person committee is composed of leaders of the major theme areas, sponsors, the CGCP and federal government research departments. The Scientific Advisory Committee is responsible for ongoing evaluation of the project. A small Secretariat serves this infrastructure.

JGOFS (Canada)Le programme JGOFS Canada se caractérisera par un plan de recherche axé sur trois grands thèmes : échanges gazeux au niveau de la mer, transformation et transport du carbone dans l'océan, et enfouissement du carbone dans l'océan. Il se concentrera sur une série d'études sur les processus, qui devraient combler les lacunes des connaissances, tirer profit des forces du Canada dans le domaine de la recherche et favoriser la recherche dans les secteurs jugés importants par le comité national canadien pour le JGOFS. Le CNC pour le JGOFS supervise les grandes orientations du programme de recherche à mesure de son évolution et fait rapport aux parrains. Ce comité de neuf personnes est composé de spécialistes des grands thèmes de recherche, de parrains, de membres du PCCEG et d'autres services de recherche du gouvernement fédéral. Le comité consultatif scientifique est chargé de l'évaluation continue du projet; la structure est desservie par un petit secrétariat.
