JGOFS - Joint Global Ocean Flux Study(français)The Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS), a core project of the IGBP, was designed to increase our understanding of the ocean carbon cycle, its sensitivity to change, and regulation of the atmosphere-ocean CO2 balance. Its objectives are to: determine and understand on a global scale the processes controlling the time-varying fluxes of carbon and associated biogenic elements in the ocean; to evaluate the related exchanges with the atmosphere, sea floor and continental boundaries; and to develop a capacity to predict on a global scale the responses to oceanic CHUB processes to anthropogenic perturbations, in particular those related to climate change.

JGOFS - étude conjointe sur les flux océaniques mondiauxL'étude conjointe sur les flux océaniques mondiaux (JGOFS) vise à améliorer notre compréhension du cycle océanique du carbone, de sa sensibilité aux changements et de la régulation de l'équilibre atmosphère-océan du CO2. Ses objectifs sont les suivants : déterminer et comprendre, à l'échelle planétaire, les processus qui régissent les variations temporelles du carbone et des éléments biosynthétiques associés présents dans l'océan, et évaluer les échanges de ces substances entre l'atmosphère, le plancher océanique et les limites continentales; se doter des moyens de prévoir à l'échelle mondiale les réponses des processus océaniques aux perturbations anthropiques, en particulier celles liées au changement climatique.
