The information presented in this module has taken been directly from the "briefing book" prepared by the CGCP for its "Climate Change: Cross-Canada Briefings Before Kyoto", that took place from November 5th to November 19th, 1997. The briefing book was created using a number of published sources as well as original material. The published materials include products of the CGCP, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the IPCC. This briefing book is not meant to be a stand-alone product—it was prepared to be used in conjunction with the briefing session. It has not been formally reviewed by the CGCP Board or the Royal Society of Canada.

The Cross-Canada Briefing Sessions were made possible by the contribution of a large number of individuals and organizations. The CGCP would like particulary to thank its partners in each region as well as Environment Canada and the other organizations that, through their financial support have made the sessions possible.
