Climate Change: Cross-Canada Briefings Before Kyoto

- seeing the climate change issue appear more and more frequently in your work?
- unable to keep up with the flow of information and looking for a credible, concise, and current overview of the issue and its implications for Canada and your region?

Then you are invited to attend one of a series of one-day briefing sessions to be held this fall in the following cities:
- Calgary: Wednesday, November 5th
- Vancouver: Friday, November 7th
- Montreal: Wednesday, November 12th (note: session will be in French)
- Toronto: Monday, November 17th
- Halifax: Wednesday, November 19th

During each one-day session, participants will....
- receive briefing materials
- hear and ask questions of experts speaking on the key climate change issues
- leave the day with a balanced understanding of:
- the science of climate change
- the impacts of climate change in Canada and your region
- technical and policy responses to the threat of climate change
- adaptation and greenhouse gas reduction strategies
- the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC): the players and progress in ongoing international negotiations
- the Canadian dynamic within the changing international scene: positions of the federal and provincial governments, municipalities, various industry sectors, and other stakeholders
- the key issues to be faced in Canada, how they will affect you, and how you can get involved
- how to keep yourself informed about the climate change issue.
