Micheal Montgomery - Special Advisor on Children’s Rights and Protection

Micheal Montgomery has over 25 years experience of working for the promotion of children's rights and protection internationally. He worked for 10 in his native Ireland and in Scotland for Save the Children Fund and spent four years living and working in West Africa setting up a children's advocacy organisation.
Micheal came to Canada in 2003 and was Principle Adviser on Children's Rights until 2007 for the Canadian International Development Agency. He has also worked in education for the University of Ulster and in community development and health promotion. Micheal is an Anthropologist and Social Worker by training specializing in juvenile justice.
